Optimism

So we haven't made it yet, but I am truly optimistic for our "food truck future". We are booked for TGH for the next following three Sundays. For those that don't know, TGH is the #1 hospital in the state of Florida. We are super fortunate to be a part of all that is happening there. They have shut third shift in cafeteria down and are having food trucks indefinitely. What a huge plus for the truckers and the foodies. If we can figure out what foods make the staff tick and remain in good graces with the hospital, we should be golden. Were gonna add some soups, some sides and try to make our food affordable for all- without cutting of our noses. We'll have to figure it out quick, but as I said before, Brent's a great chef so I know if we stay committed to the cause we can do it. Our weekends are filling up quick. The potential for cooler days ahead brings more events. Please keep on food truckin!

Getting better everyday!

So I'm not sure what the turn around was this month for us, but it's the first month I won't be paying for the Auto insurance and Liability Insurance from my personal account. Good thing cause I'm way low on fundage. Were gonna take the truck Monday for an oil change and have them inspect it for all things wrong (the thing shakes like crazy) and we'll fix them in order of importance and cost. Hopefully, Brent and I will one day be able to take our first check to ourselves. On another note, we will be getting our September dates for TGH the other trucks say this a great location and we found a spot to park for lunch on Hillsborough. Were just gonna do it one day a week and see if we can build some sort of customer base there. Wish us luck. And please like us on facebook. Graffeaties (food truck). That is where I post our locations. Thanks for reading.

Hard work

Well- when starting a food truck DO NOT make the mistake of thinking you will buy a truck, sell great food, and make money. So far that's not what is happening. I know the first year in any business is a struggle so I'm staying positive in that fact.
My absolute favorite part so far is meeting all the fellow Tampa truckers, they all really love what they do and are the bright light in this new venture. It's also extremely important to have a promoting company who throws the food truck rally's in your area.. If you don't..start one. Having connections to large locations would be key in the promotional area, but food truck rally's truly seem to be the bread and butter in this field. Until next time we will continue...touring the globe..one bite at a time.

First Day

We had a first real working lunch today. It went smooth, we are currently working on other locations so we can figure out a spot that will be the most profitable and get our food to the most people. Ill keep ya posted. Thanks so much to Cypress Point it was fun.

So the truck is finished!

Just getting a final once over from the mechanic. Then another once over from the health inspector and we will finally..FINALLY.. be in business. We are currently looking for a ledge for a window, a mobile cc company, and a small folding picnic table. Craigs list hear I come.

Went to the Freedom Fest this weekend with my kids. I met a fellow food truck purveyor Dochos Concession. Thanks to Deb who was very helpful and makes a mean Cuban and fried pickles..we can't wait to join you on the job.
